You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll never think about music and entertainment in the same way after you've been subject to the thought provoking, stomping, all-singing, all-plucking Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain as they bring you "One Plucking Thing After Another".
Following their world tour and sold out concerts in New York, London and Sydney, the exceptional Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain are coming back to New Zealand. With their current World Tour ‘with only Hand Luggage’ they'll have been to the North Pole, Estonia and well... all over the place really.
They have great word of mouth, an irresistibly entertaining rapport with audiences, and an infectious gaiety and their trademark style of No-Nonsense-Rock-and-Roll-on-the-Wrong-Instruments.
This new show will consist of an entertaining and virtuosic white-knuckle ride between twisted covers, this time including Lady Gaga, Adele, Junior Walker, Black Sabbath and Michael Jackson, along with triumphant war-horses and poignant lollipops of classical music, and some surprising original and quirky pieces of music which defy classification.
The Ukes will again perform a play-along song, "Relentlessly In C", a Ukes original from 1989, so you can bring your own uke and get plucking. Scores can be downloaded from www.ukuleleorchestra.co.nz
The all-singing, all-strumming, original ukulele orchestra has played to sold-out theatres and festivals internationally since 1985. The New York Times recently named them as one of the five best concerts of the year.
The Ukelele Orchestra of Great Britain tours New Zealand from February 22 to March 3.
