The leadership team of Positively Wellington Venues (PWV), headed up by, David Perks, combines the heavy hitting background of commercial, performance, sales, marketing and operations experience needed to drive the combined growth of Wellington’s six key venues – formerly run as the Wellington Convention Centre and the St James Theatre Trust.
Adam’s role focuses on operations and delivery for PWV’s business and also encompasses management of facilities and health & safety. He brings international experience to this role, having worked in senior event and hospitality management in Europe. Prior to moving to Wellington, Adam was the Operations Manager for Auckland’s Vector Arena, with overall responsibility for the planning and delivery of all events at the arena.
Jo is responsible for developing and delivering on the C&E sales and marketing strategy and leading the sales team in winning business and building a strong sales pipeline. She is also responsible for managing the team of coordinators to ensure the delivery of stunning end–to-end event experiences. Jo has over 20 years’ experience in delivering exceptional and prestigious events to a range of public and private sector organisations.
Helen and her team are responsible for sourcing, contracting, ticketing and delivering live performances and exhibitions. This sector includes both international and national hirers, including Wellington’s performing arts and sports groups. Their focus is on developing a strong calendar of events, and working with hirers to drive local and out of town audience development. Helen has over 20 years’ experience in event/artist management, marketing and business development, including nine years at Vbase, Christchurch.
Aileen manages the full range of HR programmes at PWV. Aileen works with all directors and managers to identify and implement HR solutions and initiatives to enhance the performance of all teams. She is an experienced HR professional, and has previously worked as Te Papa’s HR Business Solutions Advisor and HR Advisor at the Commerce Commission.
Malcolm responsible for all financial planning, budgeting and reporting; he also contributes to PWV development projects. In his role, Malcolm interfaces with shared services, suppliers’ contracts and commercial partnerships, as well as financing and implementing new capital/business projects. Malcolm is a qualified Chartered Accountant with over 20 years in financial, management and business leadership roles, including 12 years within the telecommunications industry.
